Blasterparts World Tour Part 2: Hong Kong – Center of the World Toy Industry

On our Blasterparts World Tour we will take you to trade fairs, business meetings and product presentations. In this series you will be able to learn more about the world of dartblasters and join us on our quest for the latest and best blasters and parts.

In the second part of our series we will take you to the Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair, where we won two new partners. But before we started we had to visit some old friends: The Turtles statues in the „Toy Building“ on Canton Road in Hong Kong are a real classic to all toy fans. They used to be a well-known and popular photo spot for tourists, but nowadays you have to know exactly where to find the TMNTs. This is where we start the second part of our Blasterparts World Tour.

Anyone who imagines the Hong Kong Toy Fair to be a traditional trade fair is way off. While there is a fairground, the real exciting meetings take place away from the fairground in Tsim Sha Tsui.

All major toy manufacturers, including Blaster manufacturers, have offices or at least showrooms there. If you want to see the innovations and get your hands on the latest blasters, you have to come here.

Zuru bringing rival rivals to Germany and Europe

There are simply moments at trade fairs and in showrooms, that leave you amazed. At Zuru’s showroom we had such a moment. In addition to the models that use the well-known foam darts, we were also allowed to try out this gem at Zuru’s:

The Orbit is a blaster from Zuru’s brand new Chaos series that shoots foam balls, the so-called Chaos Balls, which resemble Nerf’s High Impact Rounds (HIRs). A special feature is the integrated magazine with a sophisticated follower through which the balls can be pushed into the magazine in order to load the Blaster. The Blaster is primed using the pump action grip under the barrel. There is a jamdoor as well as a safety and the follower can be fixed with a plastic pin at the end of the integrated magazine for easy loading.

Also from the Chaos series is the Meteor, a pistol that works on the same principle but is primed by sliding back the the sled. It also impresses with its compelling compact design and well thought out functionality.

A nice innovation are sticker sets that come with the two Chaos blasters: Individual white stickers enhance the blaster’s sci-fi look and at the same time give it an individual touch.

The best news from Zuru, however, was that they were aiming to bring these blaster models to market in Europe and Germany as well and succeeded. We can’t wait to offer these gems on blasterparts.com. We are expecting this to happen by the end of June 2019. In addition to the chaos blaster, we will also include some other exciting new items from Zuru in our assortment.

Fair Game

After the exciting start at Zuru and some other companies, we of course also went to the actual trade fair in the Convention Center, where we were able to kick off another new project in cooperation with a new partner: Blasterparts will produce blaster accessories in an exclusive Blasterparts Edition! It’s still too early for us to give any details, but as soon as we can, we’ll let you know.

Onto the mainland

After our stay in Hong Kong, we went on to the mainland, where we paid a visit to what is probably the most famous name in the worldwide Blaster modding scene, to talk about what our cooperation will look like in the future: Worker.

The result was absolutely worth the trip: Blasterparts will become Worker’s biggest partner in Europe. A lot of kits, sets and parts are already on their way to us so we can include them into our shop. Among them also some articles, which will be sold in a special Blasterparts Edition.

Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked

After our appointment at Worker, we returned to Germany with tons of new ideas and big plans – but there wasn’t much time to take action yet: the next event, Nuremberg International Toy Fair, was just around the corner.

In the third part of the Blasterparts World Tour you can find out what Nerf’s Titan has in common with the Prometheus and how Buzzbee will make us all very happy!
