Blaster Mod of the Week 48

The community on Blasted.de is the German speaking dartblaster community! In this series we’ll present a new awesome mod from the community once a week, every week.

The Pixel Gun is special in many ways. It looks as if it had been smuggled into the picture via Photoshop even if you hold it in your hand.

The entire shell of the blaster is custom made. It works using the functional internals of a Nerf Clear Shot which are built individually into a HDF plate shell to achieve the geometric pixel shape. The three mm thick HDF plates were cut by laser and fitted into one another sometimes with cut-outs, sometimes in layers to achieve the desired shape. The whole body is then glued and filled for varnishing, creating the illusion of the blaster being one solid piece.

Modder to Modder

If you want the edges and transitions that have developed during your craft to disappear completely, it is worth filling and sanding in several steps. First of all, you have to fill and sand fundamentally. If the transitions then look good, the whole Blaster can be primed in one colour. Usually the areas where the transitions are not quite perfect will be clearly visible. In this case further sanding is necessary. For very fine transitions, there are so-called spray fillers that apply a thin layer of sandable filler.

Blasterparts Mod of the Week

We will continually post a Mod of the Week from here on and would love your support. Maybe you’d contribute a few sentences for our Modder to Modder section if we present your mod, make suggestions which mod should be next or discuss, ask and help one another with tips and tricks around our favourite hobby.
