Blaster Mod of the Week 26

The community on Blasted.de is the German speaking dartblaster community! In this series we’ll present a new awesome mod from the community once a week, every week.

Optical modding is a huge and awesome part of our favourite hobby! There is an incredible range of different intentions, ideas and implementations out there. There are realistic looking props for the live role playing scene, replicas of film props, stylish sports accessoiries and simple Individualizations to make blasters more recognizable. There are literally no limits.

We want to show what our awesome comunity can do and will start to show their work in this series – once a week, every week. We would love if this would enable you to find inspiration, tips and tricks or even new techniques für your own work here. Maybe your work will be presented here one day too!

Blaster of the Week

This week we have a great mod of a NERF Zombie Strike – Doominator for you. As you can easily see it’s a blaster for a postapocalyptic scenario. The blaster has been primed with black and silver, some extra extensions and has an amazin rust effect. When applying the rust effect, Rough-and-distressed has been careful, to leave out the spots you’d grip when using this blaster. They have a nice blank metal look to them. This gives the Blaster a very interesting and realistic look.

Modder to Modder

This Blaster is a great example for a realistic paint job with nice attention to detail! The distribution of rusty an worn parts is very important for the overall look, because it makes the Blaster look like a real thing and not something artifical. The colorful gas tank in the shoulder stock does an amazin job at breaking up the otherwise quite monotonous coloring and is a great eyecatcher. These spots of color can make the difference between an appealing blaster and a blaster that seems somehow boring despite a lot of effort. It’s about the details.

What Now?

We will continually post a Mod of the Week from here on and would love your support. Maybe you’d contibute a few sentences for our Modder to Modder section if we present your mod, make suggestions which mod should be next or discuss, ask and help oneanother with tips and tricks around our favourite hobby.
